Blue Eyed Anthias     Common Names   Lyretail Anthias, Blue/Purple Eye Anthias, Sea Goldie   Scientific Name   Pseudanthias   squamipinnis   Family   Serranidae   Diet   Carnivore   Lifespan   5-7 years   Natural Habitat/Origin   These fish normally form large aggregations above  coral outcrops in various locations including patch reefs, channels, and outer reef slopes.  The males keep the females in check while being  haremic  and territorial.   International Distribution   These fish are typically found in the Indo-West Pacific.   Appearance   The males have a bright red coloration while the females tend to be more orange in color .   Conservation Status   This species of fish is of the least concern  according  to the IUCN Red List due to a stable population in waters that  are protected.
